Stamford College Early Years Students Hit the Right Note with Jo Jingles Workplace Workshops
Stamford College’s Early Years students traded traditional textbooks for tambourines and nursery rhymes as they took part in a series of interactive workplace skills workshops led by Jo Jingles.
Known for providing high-energy music, singing, and movement classes for preschool children, Jo Jingles visited the college to give students a hands-on look at how creative arts are used to support early childhood development. This immersive experience allowed students to step into the role of a facilitator, learning how to manage groups of young children while keeping a fun and educational environment.
Throughout the workshops, students explored the science behind music and movement, discovering how rhythm and song can improve coordination, language skills, and social confidence in the under-five age group.
The sessions moved beyond simple performance, focusing on the professional skills required to lead a classroom, such as maintaining high energy, adapting to different learning needs, and using sensory props to keep young learners engaged.
By participating in these live demonstrations, the students gained a deeper understanding of the diverse career opportunities available within the early years sector, specifically in specialised freelance and enrichment roles.
Stamford College remains committed to providing these unique industry links, ensuring that our Early Years graduates enter the workforce with the practical experience and enthusiasm needed to make a real difference in the lives of children
