Stamford College Football Academy Returns to Weston Homes Stadium for Second Annual Football Fixture
Stamford College Football Academy students, part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), were once again given the exciting opportunity to step onto the pitch at Peterborough United’s renowned Weston Homes Stadium for the second year running.
The in-house friendly match, at POSH, offered learners a professional setting to showcase their skills, with players enjoying full access to the changing rooms, a tunnel walkout experience, and the chance to play on the same surface as professional athletes. The Blues came away victorious in a high-energy 5–3 encounter, with both teams displaying impressive teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Following the match, students were recognised with end-of-year awards for their hard work and achievements throughout the academic year. Trophies were presented by Stamford College Sport staff, celebrating dedication, progress, and outstanding contributions across a variety of categories:

Stamford Football Academy student Jamie Milner, commented, “It was so much fun playing on the POSH pitch with all my mates. It meant a lot to me, it’s not every day you get to play on a professional pitch, so to be able to play here two years in a row has been wonderful.”
Stamford College is proud to offer its students such immersive opportunities, ensuring that learning extends beyond the pitch and into future careers. Inspire Education Group extends its thanks to Peterborough United Football Club for continuing to support this valuable experience.
