Stamford College Host Empowering Women in Construction Event

11 December 2024

Stamford College, part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), was proud to host the Women in Construction event on Wednesday 11th December, at the College’s on-site open-to-the-public Gallery Kitchen restaurant.

The event brought together a remarkable line-up of high-profile women in the construction sector, with a focus on sustainability, green technology, and community impact.

The event was marked by inspiring speeches from key speakers, including Jill McCarthy from WiCiL, and Julia Bates, Chief Curriculum Officer of IEG. John Anderson, CEO of Allison Homes (proud sponsor of the College’s Modern Methods of Construction Centre), also shared valuable insights into leadership and innovation in the industry whilst Sarah-Louise Fairburn, Founder of Imp and Maker also shared her thoughts.

Attendees were treated to a networking lunch, followed by guided tours of the Construction department where students showcased their skills through engaging demonstrations and activities.

This event not only highlighted the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the construction industry but also fostered discussions on the role of women in the sector and the positive influence on community growth and sustainability.
