Stamford College Students Celebrate Mother-Daughter Duo as ‘Inspirational Women’ for International Women’s Day

In recognition of International Women’s Day, Stamford College is delighted to announce that Student Mentors, Jenny and Sarah have been officially recognised as the College’s “Most Inspirational Women” for 2026.

This year, the college invited students from every curriculum area to vote for the women who most inspire them, resulting in a landslide of support for these two remarkable individuals. In a touching coincidence that highlights a shared family passion for education, the two winners are not only both dedicated Student Mentors at the college but are also mother and daughter.

The nominations poured in from across the campus, with students eager to share how Jenny and Sarah have transformed their college experience. Jenny was praised for her “infectious positivity and her ability to make learning both engaging and accessible”. One student noted that she is “always checking on how I am and is always there to lift your mood when you’re having a bad day,” while others highlighted her “joyful and happy” nature as a primary reason they feel motivated to finish their college day on a high note.

Similarly, Sarah’s impact as a Student Mentor over the past two years has left a lasting impression on the student body. Students described her as having a “great teaching mindset” and a unique ability to “advocate for others, especially in problematic situations.” Her reputation as a reliable and compassionate listener has made her a cornerstone of student support, with many noting that she “has always been there for them whenever they needed a trusted voice to talk to.”

The dual recognition of a mother and daughter pair serves as a heart-warming testament to the culture of care at Stamford College. By bridging the gap between academic instruction and emotional wellbeing, Jenny and Sarah embody the spirit of International Women’s Day, demonstrating leadership, resilience, and the profound impact that supportive women have on the next generation.
