Stamford College Students Find Inspiration in the Everyday with ‘Intuitive Room’ Arts Workshop.
Students at Stamford College recently traded traditional paintbrushes for bubble wrap and hair combs during an innovative arts workshop led by the Bourne-based creative studio, The Intuartive Room.
This unique collaboration was designed specifically for Personal Development groups, after recently attending lessons about Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colour. Students focused on sensory exploration rather than following rigid artistic rules, the students were tasked with designing original artwork using a diverse range of unconventional materials and everyday household items.
From creating intricate textures with bubble wrap to using hair combs to produce patterns in paint, the session challenged students to see the artistic potential in objects they encounter every day. The workshop aimed to show that creativity isn’t about having expensive tools, but rather about how an individual perceives and interacts with the world around them. Working with Intuitive Room allowed the students to experiment freely without the fear of making a mistake, resulting in an incredible transformation in their engagement and self-expression.
This collaboration highlights Stamford College’s ongoing commitment to integrating professional community partners into the curriculum to support student wellbeing and personal growth
