Stamford College Students Get Hands-On Look at Automotive Careers with Sycamore BMW

Students at Stamford College enjoyed a hands-on look into the automotive industry today as representatives from BMW Sycamore in Peterborough visited the campus with a fleet of vehicles.

Through this annual collaboration, Stamford College students gain insight into careers within the automotive industry. Showcasing this success, BMW Sycamore’s last three apprentices were all recruited directly from the college, highlighting the high quality of training and the local opportunities available. 

Tyrell, a Workshop Technician at Sycamore BMW and former Stamford College student, returned to campus to share his career journey. After completing his Level 1 in Motor Vehicle studies at the college, Tyrell secured a prestigious three-year apprenticeship with BMW. He was joined by Senior Service Advisor Kai, who shared valuable insights into the daily operations of a dealership that manages 50 to 70 vehicle repairs a day. Kai spoke in detail about complex diagnostics, problem-solving, managing parts, and the importance of building strong customer relationships.

This visit brought BMW’s 100-year legacy directly into the classroom, giving students a firsthand look at the standards required by a globally renowned brand.
