Stamford College Students Shine at Sell-Out Annual Fashion Show

Creativity and collaboration took center stage as Level 3 Fashion students at Stamford College delivered a spectacular, sold-out runway show. 

The annual event highlighted the technical skill of Year 1 and Year 2 students, who designed, created, and modeled their own original garments they have been developing since September.

This year’s showcase was defined by a powerful partnership with the Stamford Diversity Group. This collaboration provided students with direct access to traditional skills from around the world. A major highlight of the evening featured bespoke pieces inspired by Ukrainian heritage, developed in coordination with the group to honor international craftsmanship and cultural exchange.

The fashion show serves as cross-departmental teamwork, simulating a professional industry environment through a seamless college-wide collaboration.

Our Hair and Media Makeup team designed and executed stunning high-fashion looks to prepare students for the runway, while Photography students worked behind the lens to capture the high-energy atmosphere and intricate garment details. Adding to the professional feel of the evening, Catering students provided a refined guest experience by creating and serving hand-crafted canapés and refreshments throughout the event.

The event drew high-profile praise from David Walker Smith, British Beauty Week Ambassador. Reflecting on the talent on display, Smith remarked, “I was a fashion student at Northumbria University and I know how the students feel putting on a show with an insane amount of hard work. It’s an honour to be a part of this evening, the fashion team and wider College have been amazing to collaborate with.”

In a gesture of support for the next generation of designers, David Walker Smith awarded a £250 Kurt Geiger voucher to the student judged to have produced the best work in collaboration with Helping Our Ukrainian Friends (HOUF) and the Stamford Diversity Group.
