Stamford College Welcomes Pediatric Nurse for Hands-On Healthcare Training
Health and Social Care students gained a vital look into the fast-paced world of nursing this week as they welcomed Bryony, a practicing Pediatric Nurse into their lesson.
The visit focused on the essential clinical skills required for patient care, giving students a practical “day-in-the-life” perspective of working on a busy hospital ward.
During the session, Bryony led a series of hands-on demonstrations focused on patient observations, showing students exactly how to monitor new admissions. Students were guided through the technical processes of checking heart rates, measuring blood pressure, and monitoring oxygen levels using professional diagnostic equipment.
By practicing these observations under the guidance of a current practitioner, students were able to relate their classroom theory to the environment of pediatric nursing.
Learning from an expert with active, day-to-day industry experience is an invaluable part of the curriculum at Stamford College, providing students with a realistic insight into where their qualifications can lead.
The college would like to extend a huge thank you to Bryony for sharing her expertise and helping to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
