Vistry Group Champions T Levels with Stamford College Mechanical & Electrical Student Placement

Stamford College, part of Inspire Education Group (IEG), is celebrating a standout example of how T Level industry placements are shaping future careers.

Fredrick Tansley, a T Level in Building Services Engineering for Construction (Electrical Installation) student, has gained exceptional real-world experience thanks to a thriving partnership with Vistry Group, supported by Rolec Electrical & Mechanical Services.

The connection began when Freddy attended Stamford College’s Journey of a 200-unit scheme seminar delivered by Vistry. Inspired by the presentation, he approached the team to request a work placement—demonstrating the initiative at the heart of T Levels.

Two Industry Placements, One Bright Future

Placement 1: Freddy spent two days shadowing the site manager at Vistry’s Stamford Gardens development, gaining a detailed understanding of project management and supply chain operations.

Placement 2: Originally planned for two weeks with Rolec Electrical & Mechanical Services, Freddy extended his stay to three weeks. He worked on snagging and de-snagging, gaining practical experience in fitting AOVs, intercoms, fire sensors, and dual-entry systems.

Freddy said: “I’m loving it – I’ve made some really good bonds and had great conversations with so many genuine people. It was a very memorable experience.”

The Vistry team praised Freddy’s technical understanding, punctuality and willingness to learn, encouraging him to apply for employment after he completes his course. Freddy is now looking forward to more practical experience during year two of his T Level and is already planning a further placement at Vistry’s Haddon Cross site.
