Work Experience
As a college, we are dedicated to supporting our students in developing the confidence and skills they require for their future careers, which we achieve with the support of employers. First-hand experience of the workplace is vital to a student’s training and development, and we hope you will be able to support our work experience programme, enabling our students to achieve their qualifications.

How can work experience benefit your business?
- Gain fresh insights into your work practices, especially in areas like new technology and social media where young people excel.
- Build supervisory, mentoring, and management skills within your team.
- Trial a potential candidate for future full-time employment or apprenticeship opportunities.
- Boost your business’s reputation in the local community and enhance your public profile.
- Promote diversity in your workforce.
- Assist staff with ongoing or incomplete projects.

Industry Placements
What is an industry placement?Â
An industry placement is a key component of a T Level course – a new qualification for 16-19-year-olds designed in collaboration with employers. T Level students spend 80% of their course time in the classroom, gaining the skills employers require. Unlike traditional work experience, industry placements offer a longer, more structured opportunity for young people to develop real-world skills and make a meaningful contribution to your organisation. Each placement lasts a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days).

How can an industry placement benefit your business?
- Enhance staff mentoring and management skills
- Strengthen your recruitment pipeline
- Foster workforce diversity by offering opportunities to youth from various backgrounds
- Introduce fresh, innovative ideas
- Build collaborations with local training providers
- Partner with other employers to split a single industry placement (minimum 315 hours) across two businesses.
- Inspire the next generation to join your industry
- Address current and future skills shortages by developing a skilled workforce
- Strengthen your recruitment pipeline and boost diversity
- Enhance social value: social inclusion creates business opportunities and strengthens your community reputation
