Former Sports Student Pursues Degree Alongside Peterborough United Coaching Role
Wleed Mazhar, a former Level 3 Sports Coaching and Development student at Stamford College, has quickly climbed the coaching ladder. Pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching and Physical Education degree at ARU Cambridge, Wleed balances the demands of university study with his roles as FC Peterborough’s First Team Coach and U18’s Manager, and Girls Academy Coach for Peterborough United Football Club.
Having completed his studies between 2020 and 2022, Wleed faced the challenges of online learning during his first year, but credits the College’s lecturers for their unwavering support. The course’s practical focus following the lifting of lockdown restrictions in his second year of study proved invaluable, providing Wleed with the foundation he needed to kickstart his career.
Observing a Stamford College Football Academy training session at Peterborough United’s renowned Weston Homes Stadium last month, Wleed offered his advice to current students: “The course lecturers would offer great advice about career progression and used their contacts to source me some great work experience. Put in the hours and take all of the opportunities that come your way, even if it’s voluntary”.
Inspire Education Group congratulates Wleed on his achievements and wishes him continued success in his career.
