Skills for Work & Living Student, Chloe Burford, Triumphs at Special Olympics City of Hull Swimming Gala
Skills for Work & Living student of Stamford College, Chloe Burford, represented Peterborough at the recent Special Olympics City of Hull Swimming Gala, soaring to the podium in multiple categories.
More than 100 swimmers convened at East Riding Leisure Centre in Yorkshire, vying for victory in races spanning 25 to 200 metres. Chloe’s stellar performance earned her a gold medal for backstroke, and silver for both the front crawl and relay events, proudly presented to her by five-times Paralympic Gold Medallist, Ellie Simmonds OBE.
“I really enjoy the swimming events because I get to see my friends and I am proud to represent Peterborough and my team”, shared Chloe, ecstatic after her recent success.
Supporting 6600 athletes across 27 diverse sports, Special Olympics Great Britain empowers individuals to unearth new strengths, abilities, skills and successes. Hosted by the City of Hull division of the wider foundation, the swimming gala shines as one of the nation’s largest sporting competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
