Stamford College host Stamford Town Council Mayor Amanda Wheeler’s final Civic Dinner
Stamford College was honoured to host the final Civic Dinner of Councillor Amanda Wheeler, celebrating the strong relationship between Stamford Town Council and Inspire Education Group.
Over recent years, Stamford College has continued to strengthen its engagement with Councillor Amanda Wheeler and Stamford Town Council, and the Group is grateful for the Mayor’s continued support for the College and its students. Councillor Wheeler has championed the role of education within the local community and also joined the platform party at University Centre Peterborough’s Graduation Ceremony, supporting students as they celebrated their achievements.
Cllr Amanda Wheeler said: “It was an unforgettable night. The students were all fantastic, professional and attentive. Olia was so impressed with their enthusiasm and curiosity in the kitchen, learning new skills quickly. It really was a fabulous team effort and shows why Stamford College deserves its wonderful reputation as an inspirational place to work and study.”
The Civic Dinner brought together guests from across the local community for an evening of culture, music and exceptional hospitality at Stamford College.
Guests enjoyed a sumptuous three-course Ukrainian feast created by renowned chef and author Olia Hercules, with dishes served family-style — a signature element of Olia’s approach to dining. The menu featured classic Ukrainian-inspired dishes accompanied by fragrant rice and seasonal vegetables, creating a memorable and vibrant dining experience.
The evening was further enhanced by live performances from internationally recognised harpist Eleanor Turner and acclaimed pianist Yaroslav Oliinyk, providing a wonderful soundtrack throughout the event.
Hospitality and Catering students from Stamford College worked alongside Olia Hercules in the preparation and delivery of the evening, gaining invaluable experience supporting a high-profile civic event while learning directly from an internationally respected chef.
The event reflected Stamford College’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and creating meaningful industry experiences for students, while celebrating the strong partnerships that continue to support the College and the wider Stamford community.
