Stamford College Supported Interns Excel in Stamford Rotary Club Mock Interviews
This week, Stamford College, further education provider of Inspire Education Group (IEG), welcomed members of the Stamford Rotary Club, who generously volunteered their time to conduct mock interviews for students of the Supported Internships programme.
A bespoke course of study designed for young people aged 16-24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), Supported Internships facilitate students’ transition into paid employment or further training, via practical work experience with a local employer. Collaborating with national organisations such as Amazon and the NHS, these programmes develop essential workplace skills through the support of existing employees and job coaches.
The mock interview session provided invaluable insight into real-world interview scenarios, offering students a vital opportunity to reflect upon their work placement and enhance their communication skills. The diverse professional backgrounds of each Rotary Club volunteer provided students with a glimpse into the opportunities available to them in the working world.
Emmalee Higgins, Lecturer in Skills for Work & Living (SEND) at the College, explained, “This collaboration with the Stamford Rotary Club has been incredibly beneficial for our students. The opportunity to practice their interview skills with experienced professionals has significantly boosted their confidence and preparedness for future employment.”

Meanwhile, President of the service organisation, Val Lofthouse, shared, “The Stamford Rotary Club was delighted to support local young people in unlocking their full potential. Witnessing the students’ enthusiasm and growth throughout the process was truly rewarding, and we wish them the best of luck in their endeavours”.
Inspire Education Group extends its gratitude to the Stamford Rotary Club for their continued support.
