Stamford College Supports ‘Light It Up Gold, Lincolnshire’ as Student Mentors Win Inclusion Competition

14 May 2026

Stamford College is proud to announce that its Student Mentor team has been named the winner of the ‘Glow for Gold’ workspace decoration competition.

This creative initiative was championed by our ‘Ability Not Disability’ group as part of a wider commitment to an inclusive and supportive environment for all learners. The competition challenged staff and students to transform their workspaces using impactful, sustainable, and inclusive decorations, with the Student Mentor team ultimately taking the top prize for their innovative and thoughtful display.

The ‘Glow for Gold’ campaign was launched in alignment with the regional ‘Light It Up Gold, Lincolnshire’ movement. This county-wide initiative sees various organisations and landmarks lighting up in gold to symbolise ‘Au’, the chemical symbol for gold, in representation of autism. By participating in this movement, Inspire Education Group (IEG) joined a collective effort to raise awareness for neurodiversity and celebrate the unique strengths of the autistic community.

This competition highlights the ongoing dedication of Stamford College to championing disability awareness and neurodiversity. By focusing on sustainability and inclusivity, the ‘Glow for Gold’ initiative encouraged meaningful conversations across the campus about accessibility and representation.

Inspire Education Group remains a proud supporter of ‘Light It Up Gold, Lincolnshire,’ and continues to prioritise initiatives that ensure every student and staff member feels seen, valued, and celebrated within the educational community.
