Stamford College's RAF Air and Defence Career College provides employer-led, career focused education and technical training for 16 to 19 year olds. Our employer supporters will work closely with us to provide this unique and innovative model, which is designed to create secure career paths in the RAF, Aerospace and Catering Industries.
Stamford College works in partnership with The Royal Air Force and a range of top aerospace industry firms including Raytheon, Thales and AAR Corp to provide this unique training model. Our carefully designed study programmes, which have been shaped by our industry partners, offer a unique blend of academic education and technical training, infused with an additional focus on leadership, communication and team building.
The RAF, Thales, Raytheon and AAR Corp have helped Stamford College shape the Air & Defence Career College curriculum with a blend of technical skills, a personal development programme and sector specific job-ready skills. That means graduates will leave the College with the right qualifications and the fitness levels, confidence, leadership and communications skills to succeed.
Our students will get involved with industry-set projects, co-designed by employers – equipping them to enter their career of choice ahead of the game and ready to progress. Career College students will spend a significant proportion of time experiencing industry environments first-hand through an extensive programme of work experience. Industry experts will join tutors at College to pass on their knowledge and expertise. Core academic study areas like maths, English and science will be contextualised to the specialism of the Career College Digital skills development will be a major priority.

It enables students to complete their core academic studies, alongside full-time technical training, creating a clear pathway to an exciting, rewarding future in the following specialisms:

Graduates are guaranteed a place on RAF Basic Recruit Training (subject to RAF entry criteria) and will be well equipped to pass first time. If students decide not to enter the RAF, they can progress to employment, an apprenticeship or further study for a career in the aerospace industry.
Studying at New College Stamford on the RAF course has been life changing. This course has given me the insights and skills I need to join the RAF.
