Air and Defence College Alumni Graduate from RAF Halton
A huge congratulations to Oisin Mutch-McDonald (ADC 22-23) and Callum Steele-Wyman (ADC 20-21) on successfully graduating from their RAF recruit training at RAF Halton.

The prestigious ceremony was attended by Sara Gibson, Air & Defence College Coordinator, and Sqn Ldr Helen Grantham, who proudly watched our College alumni take this significant step in their RAF careers. The event was made even more memorable being reviewed by Air Marshal Gillespie, Director General of the Defence Safety Authority, and a stirring performance by the Band of the RAF Regiment from RAF Music.
Oisin, now training as a Cyberspace Communications Specialist, reflected on his journey, saying: “The Air & Defence College helped me choose what trade I wanted to progress into. Hearing from guest speakers, trips to RAF bases, and fitness tests really helped me progress straight into the RAF.”
Both Callum and Oisin are now advancing to Phase 2 of their training, where they will further develop their specialist skills within the RAF.
Alumni Callum Thacker (ADC 23-24) has also successfully completed his Phase 2 training and is now a RAF Mover. Callum shared. “The lecturers gave me so much support with my initial RAF application, as well as throughout the interview process and aptitude tests. They also helped me achieve peak physical fitness, to meet the RAF’s requirements”.
We are incredibly proud of their achievements and wish them continued success in their RAF careers!
