12 March 2025

Construction T Level students recently visited Vistry’s Innovation Centre and Timber Frame Factory in Coalville, Leicester, for an informative day exploring cutting-edge manufacturing processes.

The visit offered students a unique opportunity to see firsthand how modern construction methods are transforming the homebuilding industry.

During the trip, students observed the production of timber frame closed panels, roof trusses, and engineered joists, gaining insight into the precision, technology, and efficiency involved in modern construction techniques. The experience provided a practical understanding of how Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) are applied in real-world settings to improve build quality, speed, and sustainability.

Students also explored Vistry’s Innovation Centre, learning about the latest technologies and systems being used to shape the future of sustainable homebuilding. The visit highlighted the importance of innovation, teamwork, and technical knowledge in the construction sector, complementing the students’ T Level studies.

Stamford College extends a huge thank you to the Vistry team for hosting the visit and providing such an insightful and inspiring day. Experiences like this help students connect classroom learning to real-world industry practice, preparing them for successful careers in construction and engineering.
